Bubala
Soho, London.
Sometimes, replica plants are the only suitable option. This space has a on main reason why real plants are not viable - very very limited natural light. This Bubala dining room is located in the basement under the busy streets of Soho, London. Whilst their delicious vegetarian food is in abundance, real vegetation for this space was proving to be impossible with the client having an ongoing struggle to keep real houseplants alive.
I opted for high quality, realistic looking faux houseplant varieties including Aloe, Yucca, Ficus and Palms to suit the restaurant’s decor and Middle Eastern menu.
I also added a faux foliage ‘curtain’ as a screen at the only window in the space as this overlooked a storage area. The display allowed natural light to pass through whilst adding a garden feel to the view.
