Pear Tree Cafe
Battersea Park, London.
Battersea Park has been home to Pear Tree Cafe for over 8 years and many of you might already know of it. Aside the serene boating lake, Pear Tree hosts a multitude of runners, dog walkers, cyclists, brunch goers and alfresco live music lovers every single day. The exisitng outdoor pots and planters needed some attention as this space is a high traffic area and the plants can get somewhat abused!
The brief from the client was lush, tough and low maintenance plants that could fill the gaps, work with the existing surviving plants and to make the space feel welcoming and garden like for their customers.
I combined a variety of plants to create a cohesive scheme that met this brief. A mixture of evergreens, perennials and a few annuals for instant colour. I also refreshed a few of the indoor floor standing plants to help bring the outdoors in to the dining space.
‘‘We've been working with James at Plants By There in Lincoln's Inn Fields, Battersea Park and Clapham Common, and he's never failed to impress.
We have a variety of spaces of different sizes at Pear Tree Cafe, indoors and outdoors, each of which James has worked his magic on and really brought them to life. We love to work with people who genuinely care - and James is certainly one of them. Not to mention, always a friendly face.
We would highly recommend to anyone looking to transform their space or add some colour!’’
